Ashley is the newsletter strategist for The Philadelphia Inquirer’s essential journalism.

She works closely with the Senior Editor to strategize for all 13 editorial newsletters in the Inquirer’s portfolio by superpowering the talented newsroom with strategic moves to deepen the connection with the audience.

For four years, she was the pop culture editor at TIME,  leading her team of four relentless reporters to deliver the most successful audience days in TIME’s history. And for two years before that, she was a managing editor at Abrams Media.

She’s written features regularly for the New York Times, New York mag, VICE, and Interview magazine.

Curious and unafraid to dig deep into experimentation, she values backward engineering, deep collaboration, original reporting, service, empathy, and curiosity.

 

Benjamin Quiring

Team Lead, Newsteam, ‎Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger, Germany

Benjamin Quiring, 34 years, is the Team Lead of the Newsteam at Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger where he specializes in digital news publishing and newsletter development. He has also held the role of Newsroom Reporter/Site Manager the past 7 years at Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger.

Before his current position, he completed traineeships at Deutsche Presse-Agentur (dpa), taz - die tageszeitung, DRadiowissen and the Dumont Office for Politics and Economy, Berlin.
